Tried again at pivot.

I had a little urge to try out pivot, which was stored away deep inside my documents. I made two animations before I gave up.

I think I might've gotten a lot better then even before I quit pivot.

The animation's overeased because it's supposed to be a higher frame rate. I tried a lot of different things, but it stayed slow. I'll post the piv. file if you want.
