Manamei's Mushroom Cloud Tutorial

Ello ello! Please excuse the large images. I'm making a video and I had to make them large. :D

1.
Okie dokie! First, the mushroom cloud starts out small then it grows in size. Rember, mushroom clouds have a ring, so one is starting to form at the bottom.

2. The ring is starting to break away from the cloud. Then, the cloud is being pushed upward. As this is happening the ring has some space from the cloud, but is shrinking and moving upward with it.

3. This part is optional. I like to make my mushroom clouds darken then fade away. I think it creates a cool effect ^_^

It doesn't seem very hostile, it almost looks like a cute sponge.

It has too many frames, and I think it should expand more and appear less bouncy.

I agree with bonk but you can also increase the frame speed so it looks more smooth. Also maybe you should make a ring of smoke at the ground too just because to show people where the explode began.

heh...erm yeah. I was going for a cutesy anime explosion. I will try better next time, but this is just to give the idea of a mushroom cloud.

I think it looks fine. slow down the fps, maybe....but hey, I really don't feel like making anyone make changes...
