How to steal a street sign

Everyone has seen one of those cool or stupid signs and wished, "Man, I wish I had that sign in my room." Well, now you can, but first you need some of my knowledge shared with you. First off, pick your target. If it's a giant street sign in the middle of I-95, forget it. Also, do it at night, and on a non-busy rode. Next, you'll want to check out the sign, no, don't stand there for a half hour staring at it. Walk by it a few times slowly and examine it. Estimate the size of the sign so youll know how to transport it later. Now, obviously, you'll need a monkey wrench, maybe 2 depending on the sign. Some signs have 2 nuts and some have screws, so look at your sign to determine your tools. Another factor in sign stealing is the height of the sign. most of the time you can only reach the bottom bolt. Fortunatly for you guys, I have a tip. When you remove a sign, take the bottom bolt out first. Then, place it in another hole lower (If it's that type of pole). There you have it, a step stool! If you don't have that kind of sign post, use a bike or something and lean up on it. Most signs you come across are rusted, so always bring some WD-40. The best get away is a car, if not, don't run like an idiot. Oh, and put it in something like a backpack, don't be carrying around a trash bag. Now keep in mind, stealing things is ILLEGAL. You can get arrested. Don't steal stop signs and things, people have died from it. Like back in 97. You can get signs legally from garage sales or flea markets or recycling centers or dumps. Ocassionally, you might find a sign on the side of the road from an accident. If it isn't put back up within a few months, you can call it free game. Keep in mind, this is for educational purposes only. Don't get arrested. Everyone needs to know the unimportant, don't they?

The fakes are dumb. You get that nice feeling inside when you bring home that big "Warning, No Trespassing" sign. My mom doesn't care. I have a shitload of signs in my room. My best is a speed limit 65 sign. If your parents aren't cool like that, stick it in your closet and make a shrine to its sparkly goodness.

Also, lay your tutorial out in segments in your post. If you just have it written out in one big paragraph, people aren't gonna want to read it. You know, lay it out step-by-step with numbers by each step.

Like this:

3. Stow it away
4. Go home
5. ???
6. AIDS

Except without the last two, because that joke is old and played out and I'm a hypocrite for telling you this.

There's a good chance you won't get caught, most people dont give 2 shits if your taking a street sign, unless its obviously an important sign or if on eof those "good cemeratins" show up

People will get speeding tickets and when they tell the officer there was no sign they could get a fine too.

It'd be easy for me. There's speed limit signs on dirt roads near here and maybe 1 or 2 cars pass them a day. I just don't think my parents would be very happy... Once I move out I may decorate my apartment with them.

Nobody cares, they don't go out and finger print the place for a stolen sign.

Most of the signs I have are those dumb ass ones that say like "No skateboarding" and they usually get replaced the next day. My town puts signs where they aren't needed. :p
