COOL SOUND FX
OK, we all know what websites give good sounds, but free sounds aren't always what you're looking for.

Like when you look at soundrangers.com(Sorry, can't post URL's.)
you can tell that there are more expensive sounds than there are free sounds.

I found soundrangers to be the most useful for this technique.

Lets get started then!
1.Open up your sound recorder, Start Menu>All Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Sound recorder.

2.Don't worry, as you don't require a microphone!

3.Open up your webpage.(Which in this case, is soundrangers.com)

4.Select a sound category on the website.

5.When you get to a section full of previews, line up the 'Record' button with the preview button to the sound you would like to record.

6.Hit the 'Record' button, then rollover the preview button as soon as your recording.
(This doesn't apply for sound loops, you have to be quick when recording loops!)

7.As soon as the sound is over, hit the 'stop' button on the recorder, then save your sound.

8.You should have a nice, clean sound effect if you used the right website, and did this properly.

TIPS:
*Make sure that all other sounds are turned off so that your sound doesn't have any unexpected beeps etc.
*The sound recorder is included with Windows XP, there is no need to download a recorder.
*If you're going to use a different 'charge' website, then make sure the previews to the sounds are clear and not crappy. Otherwise, you'd might as well be downloading from the free sounds section!

Not really, they come out with watermarks, if you were to purchase them, they would be clearer.
Besides, if this were to be deleted, people who knew would continue to do it anyway, I know I would!
And, um... at least the music loops aren't "stealing"...haha!

Y 'know, you could use the media tab under page info in firefox, and download it legally(to extent). Or dig in the encoded files with getright(free program, very nice). Or even better, go to http://www.downloads.nl
or get an account on http://www.acidplanet.com
and download legally, or force the download
