Yeah, you heard me. Pixelations. Digital effects. Whatever. Copied and pasted straight from Darkdemon.

--------

An example: http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/6522/bdwyhrferf3wp.gif

Piv file (piv2) of the tut: http://filenuke.com/yourfiles//1150745143.piv

You're probably saying, "Liek, omg. Pixelations. Cool little squares turning into actual people. Digital effects ar teh pwnzor." Thats true, even if you aren't saying it.

K, now for the serious stuff. Just to let you all know, this isn't as easy as you think it'd be. It requires alot of patience, for example: I used 112 stks in one frame. Don't go beyond this point if you can't wait.

KK, now for the more serious stuff, the actual tute.

A little information before you start: I like to start from the last two frames and work my way from there, but I'll show you it from begininng to end. Also, you will require the stk you would like to pixelate and this pixelation square: http://filenuke.com/yourfiles//1150740432.stk
This is a very important tip: USE THE STK. YOU'RE PIXELATING AS A REFRENCE. To do this, color it grey and click back. Make sure its always behind the pixel squares.

For camera close up pixelation, (camera zoomed up on stks face.)

Step 1: Start off with my square I gave. Size it at about 15 or so, depends on the size of the thing your pixelating. Click next frame.

NO PIC *SELF EXPLANATORY*

Step 2: Add another square and double the size this time. Color the original one white and click "front". Now, move the recently added one so its behind the first one. Make sure its perfect so the white one is in the middle. Hopefully, it should look like a square doughnut :D, or an "o".

*size multiplied by 10*

Just delete the white one now. Remember, we did this to position it perfectly.

Step 3: Keep in mind the size of the square from step 2. Now, for all you kids who don't know the basics of percentage and stuff, heres an easy way to do it :). Multiply that number by .33. Add this number with the one from step two. For me, this should equal about 40. Estimate people, ESTIMATE!. . . sorry.

NO PIC *SELF EXPLANATORY*

Step 4: Now the real Pixelation begins. Here, I about doubled the square. Even it out so its in the middle again (step 2). Now, add 3 or so more squares. Size them all differently, but under the original. Add them randomly around the first one, to make it seem rigid.

NO PIC *LOOK IN PIV. FILE*

Step 5: K, this is kinda the same as step 4. Instead, you should add one more square and dramaticly increase the size of all of em. For example, the original square is at 150 while the rest are at 100-120. Final note: If you are using a person as your reference: make sure it starts taking the form of a circle. Instead, its more pixely.

NO PIC *LOOK IN PIV. FILE*

Step 6: If you're pixelating a person, add more stks. and the squares should reach the neck now. If not, just add more squares taking the form of the object. This step is pretty much like step 6, its just enlarging.

NO PIC *LOOK IN PIV. FILE*

Step 7: If you look the pivot file, the size of the squares all declined to 100. Now the form of the object is almost formed. Notice the small gap at the bottom, it shows that the pixelation is extending outwards.

NO PIC *LOOK IN PIV. FILE*

Step 8: First if all, delete all the squares from before. Now, this requires a hell lot of patience. If you look carefully at the object your pixelating, notice that the curves and diagnol sides aren't perfect. They have little edges, making it pixely. SO: look at the piv file. . . I sized the square down to 50 and added ALOT more stk.'s. Also notice the shape is almost perfect now.

NO PIC *LOOK IN PIV. FILE*

Final step: It make take a while to delete all of those squares, but you got this far. . . Just keep the object that you were pixelating. Turn it black and thats it. Oh, also I like to size it up by one (just press the up once on the size arrow)
