Hello again im here today to show you how to make a grunge sig with smudge a defaults. I am using cs 2 so there may be some things changed in your version.

1.Open photoshop
2. goto file>new and make a good size for your sig. I used 320 X 120.
3. get out the paint can tool and make your backround white. Get 2 good grunge renders ( 1 for a backround and one for and actual render) http://photobucket.com/albums/y132/UG_renders/?start=all < go there they have some good renders.
4. open up your renders and place the backround one in to well... the backround. this is what i have so far ( note: if your render is to small duplicate it so that it fills the hole screen. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b7/fedo/grunge1.png
5. now merge all those layers together and duplicate it. now goto filter> distort> wave and hit the randomize button and then ok. put that layer on overlay. this is what i have so far.

6.now get out your render.
7.duplicate it 6 times and put the top 5 on invisible by clicking the little eye beside them.
8. now get out brush number 60 (chalk). and put it to these settings.

8.now smuge your your first layer and put it to overlay.
9.smuge the second if you want a dark sig put it to colour dodge if you want a light put it to screen.
10. smuge this one put it to either ovelay or vivid light.
11. smuge parts of this one and leave area open and put it on normail just lower the opacity.
12. Last one put a light smudge on this one only around the edges and put it on overlay you can lower the opacity if you choose to. this is that i have so far. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b7/fedo/grunge3.png
13. almost done get out brush 65 or 45. and put it on texture and these settings. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b7/fedo/brush4.png
14. create a new layer and brush a tiny bit in black. im not going to post a picture because there is almost no diffrence in mine. leave this on normal.
15. make a new layer do the same only in white.
16. make a new layer and goto image> apply image.
17. goto filter> sharpen> sharpen. Optinal: sharpen it again and goto edit then sharpen and make it so it looks good.
18. last yay make a simple looking border on it and add some grunge text and your done. yay.
this was my outcome. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b7/fedo/coolgrunge.png
