Flash Tags!

Okay, so some of you are still obviously confused about this. I’ll make it even easier. Step by Step through uploading and posting your direct link into the .swf tag option box. So, if you still have problems with it, you have been trying imageshack.us!
To use the flash tags you must upload your .swf file to an image host site. I’ll take your step by step through the entire one’s I’m going to list:

http://swfupload.com (http://www.swfupload.com)

Fwup:

1. Click the browse button.
2. Once you find your SWF file, click the Upload button.
3. Choose the direct link (it will say the words "Direct Link" next to it).

REFER TO THE SWF TAG PORTION FOR THE NEXT STEPS

Using SWF Tags:
1. Start by making a new post or thread
2. Select the SWF Tag icon http://img353.imageshack.us/img353/5809/swftagoption6xl.png
3. Enter your direct link to your file by pressing “Ctrl + V”
4. Hit enter.
5. Then type width=XXX
6. Enter your width dimension after the equal sign
7. Add a space
8. Type height=XXX
9. Enter your height dimension after the equal sign
10. Press enter
11. Enter your direct link again in the next window that shows up.
12. Press enter.

this won't work for putfile. they don't link you to the anim itself, only to a page with the anim on it.

WHY ISNT THIS WORKING!

That's not a direct link to the movie. That's a Show Image To Friends link.

It should be like this:

[SWF="Directlinktomovie height=200 width=550"]Directlinktomovie height=200 width=550[/SWF*]

Also, Imageshack doesn't work with SWF tags. Use photobucket. That works.

You need to host it at www.photobucket.com

sixstrings777
03-21-2006, 03:22 AM
Does Stickpage use a different form of HTML? I always use this:

*EMBED src="LINKTOYOURFILE" autostart="true" hidden="false" loop="true"*

Host it at Filenuke, you have to sign up, but it's fast easy, and it uploads any type of file.

Replace "*" with "<"

Really?
For Imageshack, all you need to use is the direct link to the file, not the link to show your friends.

Paperclip
06-25-2006, 05:40 PM
imageshack.us isn't a good site for direct links because after a period of time they delete your upload... meaning you can't load your signature. Besides with photobucket there is less traffic because it is in your own account so the direct link is much more pratical.

V.Valentine
06-25-2006, 06:10 PM
Unless you get yourself an Imageshack account.
I don't know anything about the traffic but the uploaded stuff you uploaded are saved under your account so you won't lose them.

I've tried Photobucket, and to be honest, i'd rather go for a site that would allow a bigger upload.

They work differently now.
I made some new code to stop a possable cookie stealing hack.
The new syntax is:

Hopefully the new syntax will emprove on the dreaded white screen of nothing.
AND there will be no further hacking, my new code disables javascript from flash :)

You put in the dimensions wrong.

You did this:
[*****SWF="http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r230/flashingflash/siggy.swf"]width:400 height:100[/SWF]

You should have done this:
[*****SWF="http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r230/flashingflash/siggy.swf"]width=400 height=100[/SWF]

Not colons, but equal signs.
width=400 height=100

No it doesn't.

And Photobucket isn't the only place that uploads SWFs and gives you a direct link to them. The three main ones I know of are SwfUp, FileCram, and ImageShack.

This is what it shows me. I'll use either FilCram or SwfUp, becouse Imageshack hosted files expire after some while.

Really? I haven't noticed because I haven't uploaded an SWF file through Phtobucket in a while. That's pretty stupid, though. I don't know why they'd make you pay to do something that we've been able to do before. Stupid assholes at Photobucket.

width=500 height=500

why isn't it working

Gavel
10-08-2007, 02:05 PM
Well, for one thing, Zsdery, you screwed up the code. You don't need that "url=" thing. It's just [SWF="LINK NAME HERE"].

And second, you're not using a direct link for your animation. When you upload it to SwfUp, you have to copy the direct link it gives you, not the SwfUp page link. The direct link is the one with .swf at the end of it. So it should look like this:

width=500 height=500
