In this tutorial, I will teach you how to make Flash userbars by showing you the step by step process of a Mac OSX user usebar.
Step 1: open up Flash and create a new document.
Step 2: change the size of the workspace to 400 (width) by 40 (height) pixels. (picture) http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y258/blahhoogeejunior/Tutorial%20pictures/tutpic1.jpg
Step 3: Choose an image. I usually use google images or take a screenshot of one of my programs.
Step 4: Drag the image into your document and resize to fit the workspace.
Step 5: Select the image and go to Modify-Bitmap-Trace bitmap. (leave the settings alone).
Step 6: Zoom in and select only the base of the image (not the background or any text). Then drag the base image apart from the background and delete the background.
Step 7: select the rectangle tool. Make the rectangle have no outline and make the fill one of the specialized fills. (picture) http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y258/blahhoogeejunior/Tutorial%20pictures/specializedfill.jpg
Step 8: Drag the image onto the rectangle and add text.
Voila! You have created your first Flash userbar!
