As the name implies, this tutorial is all about editing sprites.
First, a brief overview of sprites. Sprites are small graphics used in video games for repeated actions. Think Super Mario Bros. Every jump is the same sprites put together. In this thread i will explain how to recolor sprites, and later how to mix sprites.
you can get some awesome sprites here: http://sprites.fireball20xl.com/
RECOLORING
Ill start out with a kirby sprite on the left... and turn it into the green kirby on the right with a few simple steps.

The first step is to create a sort of color palette, showing all the colors used t make kirby. zoom in, take out the eyedropper tool and select the darkest color of pink on kirby and put it to the side in a square, working your way to the lightest color as shown below.

now choose the color that you want the sprite to be. I used green, but you can use whatever you want. go to the colors bar and select edit colors>define custom colors then choose the darkest color that you want. create a new color palette thing with your new color, like so.

now use the fill tool and color in the kirby with your new colors. the result should be like this

ill add the next section to this thread when i have time.
